Year 4 have been working extremely hard on this half term’s topic – Roman Invasion. All the children have been totally absorbed in this fascinating story of a young Briton, Bran, who is captured by the Romans. This book has captured everyone’s imagination, resulting in fantastic writing, with the children showing empathy towards the character and were able to write their own historical narrative based on this. We have worked independently, but when we worked on a role on the wall we worked in small groups, sharing our understanding of the character’s feelings and the journey he is on. We had to compare two different chapters and establish how Bran’s point of view changed towards his enemies, following an attack, where they saved his life.
Here is a sample of some our work.
Keep up the hard work Year 4!
